Páirceáil – Parking

Buíochas leo siúd, idir thuismitheoirí, seanthuistí, feighlithe srl atá ag tacú leis an iarratas i leith cúraim agus tuisceana i dtaobh páirceáil ag an scoil. Ach fós tá roinnt bheag daoine ag leanúint leo ag pairceál sa cheantar ‘set down’agus ag cruthú contúirt. Tá marcanna nua curtha sa cheantar seo ag an gComhairle Contae le deanaí. Cáinim go láidir iad siúd a cheapann go bhfuil sé ceart go leor preabadh isteach is amach as an gceantar. Tá sé i gcoinne an dlí agus tá ciall leis an ordú gan páirceáil ann. Níl rogha againn ag an bpointe seo seachas ár bhfadhbanna a chur in iúl do na Gardaí toisc mí-chúram grúpa beag daoine! Tuigim go mbíonn fadhbanna le páirceáil ag gach scoil agus deacair iad a réiteach agus an oiread sin daoine ag teacht agus ag imeacht ag an am céanna. Tá sábháilteacht na bpáistí níos tábhachtaí ná rud ar bith eile. Más gá páirceáil is féidir carrchlós Comairle Chontae na Mí a usáid.

Firstly I want to thank all those who have observed the call for care and consideration around parking at the school, unfortunately we still are having issues, particularly in the morning. The area in front of the school is strictly a set down area – hopefully you have seen the new markings in this area. By law the bus bay must be kept clear between the hours of 8.30am and 3.00 pm. The set down area is not to be parked in by any parent, grandparent, minder & etc., no matter what class your child is in. A few people in cars have continued to cause danger by parking in these areas, citing reasons such as ‘only a minute’, ‘if that person can park here, I can’, ‘my other child is in the back seat’ or even personal health. It is not good enough to think that ‘nipping in for just a minute’ is acceptable. It is clearly against the law and for good reason. It is also extremely dangerous to perform U-Turns after dropping off your child and would again ask parents to refrain from doing so. We will have no alternative but to inform the Gardai of the ongoing situation as co-operation is not being given by a small number of reckless people. I appreciate that parking at all schools is a difficult issue to solve as so many people are arriving and leaving at the same time. Meath County Council kindly allow us to use their car park so if there is a need to stay for any length of time you may park there. The safety of children is of utmost importance please bear this in mind at all times.
